It is time to sign up for 2009 The Big E! We are looking for volunteer to help staff the NH Information Booth in the New Hampshire Building! Hear an audio tour of the history of the New Hampshire Building.

Volunteers Needed for the 2009 Big E

New Hampshire Informaiton Booth at The Big E

To sign up to volunteer at The Big E please go to: www.nhgsa.com/bige.

There you will find all the information you need to make volunteer decisions on dates, times, and places to stay (if you choose to do multi-days).

Anyone who lives or works in New Hampshire and has a passion for answering guest questions is invited to join in the fun! Whether you have been a volunteer for 30+ years or if this is your first year, you will feel welcome!

We encourage you to come volunteer 3 hours, enjoy The Big E, stay the night, and volunteer the next day for 3 more hours and enjoy more of The Big E. This gives you the best experience. Whether you volunteer for 1 shift (3 hours) or multiple shifts, all volunteers are welcome. Each volunteer received 1 free ticket to The Big E for each day they volunteer!

We will be holding an orientation session for anyone interested, but specifically for new volunteers to The Big E.

The NH Building

Although the country was in the midst of the depression in 1930, the New Hampshire Building was constructed at a cost of $75,000. This majestic structure was built using New Hampshire granite for its columns and trim and features a curved porch and tall columns similar in style to the White House. A state map is built into the main entrance walk showing the state's counties and major cities. As a visitor to New Hampshire you can enjoy special demonstrations representing the Granite State, including wood and decoy carving, cheese carving, spinning and weaving, stenciling, basketmaking and much more.
