Paul Lacourse is on the
Board of Directors for GSA, Inc. and has served as the Activities Director
since that position’s inception in 2005.
As a Granite State
Ambassador Lacourse received the Manager’s Award in 2003 and was distinguished
as Granite State Ambassador of the Year in 2004. He has attended several state & regional
conferences for GSA Inc. and attends many of the tours and activities. Paul is a 4 year veteran of the Big E and he
participates in most of the volunteer activities. In 2006 he was awarded the 2000 Hours
Award. He enjoys his volunteerism at the
Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Hooksett Rest Area, Manchester/Boston
Regional Airport along with several other locations around the state.
Lacourse retired in 2000
after over 30 years of service with United Parcel Service in Manchester.
During his period at UPS he was one of the first to be awarded with 25
Years of Safe Driving and was featured in USA Today. Paul is a life long resident of New Hampshire and has
been a volunteer his entire adult life.
Lacourse began volunteering
as a Cub Scout leader in Hooksett
NH and later as Scoutmaster of
Troop 292 also in Hooksett. After nearly
10 years of youth leadership he moved on to district and council
positions. In his last 20 years of scouting
he was the Collections Management Director for the world renown Lawrence L Lee
Scouting Museum. He was named as the Assistant Scoutmaster for the 1973
National Scout Jamboree in Idaho and the
Scoutmaster of a Council Philmont Expedition in New Mexico.
Along with many training awards including Woodbadge Training Lacourse is
the recipient of the council’s Silver Beaver Award and was most proud to become
a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow.
In addition to his GSA volunteer
duties, Paul is the contracted “GSA Storage Unit Coordinator” responsible for
all aspects of ordering, storing, communicating and inventory data processing
for literature distributed at the NH Information Booth at Manchester-Boston Regional
Airport.
Paul lives in Bedford NH
and is the proud father and best friend to his son Bryan. His companion is his dog Tess.
